My Everyday Foundation Routine Video

Hey guys!
Last week I got a request to show how I do my foundation with the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation. I was going to do a step-by-step tutorial as per usual but then I decided why not do a video? Right? It just seemed easier than trying to explain. Plus, it's more fun to watch a video than to simply look at a hundred pictures followed by a thousand words. So, without further ado, here is my first video (EVER) doing my everyday foundation routine.

Here is the link to the video. I will try to directly upload it to the blog later. "Like" and comment to let me know what you think. ENJOY! :)

Review: Nicole by OPI Drying Drops

Hey guys!
Today I bring you a review on Nicole by OPI Drying Drops. I was in Target the other day and picked this up for half off. The original price was $7.04 and I paid $3.52. This bottle contains a clear liquid that looks like water and feels like a light oil. These drops are made to dry your nails to the touch after one minute and completely dry them in five minutes. I have been in desperate need of something to dry my nails almost instantly and this has been the perfect thing to help me out.

These drying drops comes with a miniature dropper so you can easily drop the liquid on your nails.

It takes about 2 drops for each nail. I chose to do this over the sink so the excess liquid will runoff into the sink. I also like to angle my nails downward and drop the drops at the base of the nails and allow it to run down the length of the nails so the entire nail gets a nice coat.

This is after one minute and my nails are dry to the touch. They have an oil residue feeling on them but nothing gross or anything.
Overall, I really like these drying drops. I think this was a steal considering the price. I've used other products exactly like this but have been way more expensive. This was a great deal and I would recommend this to anyone who's just as impatient as I am when it comes to waiting for nail polish to dry.

Have you guys tried drying drops? What do you think of them?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

About Me/Liebster Award

Hey everyone!
I was tagged by Katy from Skin Stuff by Katy for this award! Thank you so much Katy!

For those of you who don't know what the Liebster Blog Award is, its basically a nomination from someone who loves your blog and wants to show it some love. The blogs that can be nominated for this award are seen as being the up-and-coming blogs and they must have less than 200 subscribers.

As a nominated blogger, there are some rules I have am supposed to follow:

- Reveal 11 random things about myself
- Answer 11 questions that the person who nominated me has set
- Create 11 new questions for my nominees
- Tag 11 other blogs with less than 200 followers and let them know they've been nominated. No tag backs either!

Random facts about me:

  • I like to make up my own rules, so this is what I have to say about the last two things I "have" to do for this tag...

  •  My favorite color is pink.
  • I used to be blonde.
  • I went to a Montessori when I was younger because I was very anti-social and quiet.
  • I was a tomboy in middle school.
  • I was on the Drill Team in high school.
  • I used to be a bus driver.
  • I know how to ride a motorcycle. (kinda) lol it's been awhile ok?

  • I'm a horrible waitress.
  • In the past 3 1/2 years I've moved to 6 different places.
  • I am deathly afraid of cicadas!!!! They freak me out!
  • I'm allergic to bees.
  • I am going to college to be a teacher. I would like to teach 6th grade English.
  • My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years.
  • I am lactose intolerant but my favorite thing to eat is ice cream.
  • My sister is one of the most important people in my life.

  • I've lost track of what number I'm on so I'm going to stop here.
Now on to Katy's questions:

1. What do you like most about blogging?

I like that I am able to express myself. I like that this is something that is all mine. Everything on here is me and no one else's. That's what I like. I have the freedom to post anything I please. :)

2. If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Mmmmm... this is hard. I love ice cream, chocolate, mac n cheese, chicken, and pizza. lol Ya know, the healthy stuff. Really any one of those would be good.

3. What's your favorite makeup brand?

I really like Urban Decay and MAC (high end wise). As for the drugstore, I love Revlon and Wet N Wild.

4. Do you prefer cats or dogs?

Dogs. Definitely. Here's a picture of my dog Shadow. She passed away a few years ago but I still think about her all the time. She was the best dog in the world! In this picture we caught her talking to us. She LOVED to "talk" to people. We got her from the SPCA in Houston and we found out that the owners before us beat her and that's why the tip her tail was broken. She turned out to be the best dog I've ever been friends with. She really was my best friend in a dog.

5. Who is your favorite Youtube Beauty guru?

Ok. I can't just pick one so I will give you a list of some that I really like to watch.
  • Amarixe
  • Pixiwoo
  • AndreasChoice
  • MakeupbyTiffanyD
  • Fashionista804
  • Michele1218
  • CarlyCristman
  • CarliBel55
  • DulceCandy87
  • HRHCollection
  • JaclynHill1
  • NikkieTutorials
  • NikkiPhillipi
  • Rachhloves
  • SMLx0

6. Could you go a whole year without buying makeup?

No. lol

7. Are you good about cleaning your makeup brushes regularly? (Be honest!)

No. I need to tell myself to do it more often.

8. Do you have support of friends and family with your blog?

Yes. Pretty much everyone knows about my blog and everyone who really knows me knows how big of a makeup freak I am so it really didn't come as a surprise.

9. If you didn't blog about beauty, what else would you blog about?

This question is kind of hard for me... Daily life maybe? Idk. To be honest, I probably wouldn't blog if it wasn't about beauty.

10. What's your favorite type of foundation? (powder, liquid etc.)

Liquid, hands down. I can't stand mineral powders and stuff like that. I know some people love them but I personally hate mineral makeup. I like liquid foundation and I always set it with a powder.

11. Are there days when you don't wear any makeup at all?

Yes, and those are the days where I don't typically leave the house. lol

This was so fun to do! Thank you again Katy for nominating me. I'm sorry I'm not following all the rules but I nominate everyone who reads this! Feel free to answer the same questions Katy asked me. :) Hopefully you feel like you know a little more about me.

Life Update + OOTD - Waxed Pants

Hey everyone!
I haven't posted in a while, so today I thought I'd give you a life update to let you know what I've been up to lately. I've debated on this post for a while but then came to the conclusion that this is my blog and I'm going to post what I want... even if it helps me cope with a few things. I know I typically post beauty and fashion related things (and you will find that even in this post) but I today I thought I'd get a little personal.

So, I'm just going to start...Brandon and I got into a car accident. We were going through a green light and a lady coming from the opposite direction took a left and plowed into the front driver side of my car. The air bags deployed, the windshield cracked, and the front left of my car is destroyed. We were beaten up a little and were sore from the impact but no one went to the hospital and everyone is alive and safe. The police did not file a police report and there were no "witnesses." My car is totaled and I'm still not sure if it will get fixed since I only had liability insurance on it but I still have a little hope. Here are a few pictures of my car.

These few pics are from the night of the accident.

Everything kind of flew out.

The officer gave us a ride back to the hotel in the back of his patrol car.

These pics are from the next morning at the dealership where my car was towed to.

Life sucks sometimes but you learn to deal and move on. Though, I'm pretty sure that was easily the worst day of my life. I'm just thankful that we are safe now.

So to end this with a few things not so depressing, I'll let you in on what I've been doing school wise and finally an OOTD. YAY! lol This is like 4 posts in one so maybe this will make up for the time I've been absent.

I've been super busy with school. I actually had 6 assignments to do yesterday. My LAWRD! Ugh. I'm glad that's done with.  One of my assignments I had to do this week was to create a Math center for a first grade class. I had to create all parts of the center, transport it and set it up at an Elementary school, and finally work with a student in the center.  Here's in idea of what it looked like.

I chose to do a "greater than, less than, or equal to" center. I named it Gator Math. They work in partners and read two math word problems. They record their work on the data sheet, find both answers in the stack of numbered cards, place them on the board and then choose an alligator head to determine if the first answer is greater than, less than, or equal to the second answer. I thought it was cute. lol

So for my OOTD, the other day I wore an oversized white tee with an army jacket that I paired with a simple gold necklace, black waxed jeans and plain black ballet flats. The highlight of this outfit was definitely the pants. I love them! They add an edgy feel to the look and are completely in right now.

Necklace and Waxed Pants- Target, Oversized Shirt (old) and Ballet Flats- Walmart, Army Jacket- Old Navy, Nail Polish- OPI- Number One Nemesis from the Spiderman Collection
