This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

This is Halloween- The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton

Happy Halloween!
Today I wanted to make this post full of Halloween themed pictures. I will show you some of my Halloween pictures and also show you some pictures of cute celebrity costumes that I love from this year. I hope you enjoy! (By the way, there are a lot of links throughout this post so make sure you click through to see more pics and videos. Have fun!)

I recently picked this Sinful Colors polish up from Walgreens and painted on my toes. It looks so bright in the dark! I love it!

Here is the Deer/Bambi inspired makeup I did about a week or so ago. I love it! I posted these pics on my Instagram.

Here is a look I did on my sister. I absolutely LOVE it! We actually did this about a month ago because you can never start playing with Halloween makeup too soon.

And some of you may remember my Pop Art Comic Book look from last year. This is still one of my favorite Halloween looks I've done.

Now, here are some pics of celebs in their Halloween costumes. These are just some of my favorites.

Lauren Conrad as a fairy. She always knows how to make everything look so feminine and chic.

Alessandra Ambrosio as the Queen of Hearts. I love the costume with the bright red wig and tilted crown.

Kate Upton with a Marie Antoinette-inspired look but with sugar skull makeup. I've seen a lot of people do the sugar skull makeup this year but not many have the completed outfit. That's really why I liked this costume. It's got a vintage vibe but still very Halloween with the makeup.

I do really need to explain this one? lol Paris Hilton as Miley Cyrus from the VMAs. So many people have made this outfit their costume this year and I love it.
Miley Cyrus VMAs video

Stephanie Pratt as I Dream of Jeannie. She looks adorable! lol

Miley Cyrus as Lil' Kim. I love it because Miley has become so balls-y lately and this is just another way she's "putting herself out there," quite literally.
Here's a pic she posted on FB earlier today.

And how can you not love these Candy Land-inspired costumes! Bethenny Frankel and her daughter Bryn look so cute. I love all the pink and little candies on their dresses. This is the girliest  costume I've ever seen and love the fact they showed up in a pink limo!

Neil Patrick Harris and fiancé David Burtka, as Tweedledee and Teedledum and their twin children as Alice and the White Rabbit. This is absolutely precious! I love all their costumes. Family costumes are my favorite!

And this my friends, is the best Halloween costume this year! Ellen DeGeneres as Nicki Minaj. She is hysterical! I love the fake boob cleavage and gold chains lol
Ellen showing off her costume on her show!

Of course, you can't mention celebs' Halloween costumes without mentioning Heidi Klum. Although, I haven't seen a costume from her this year, she always has the best costumes EVER! She goes above and beyond with her extravagant costumes. She is Queen of Halloween!

I know this is a different kind of post, but I wanted to share some of these neat costumes I saw on celebs this year. I hope you enjoyed it. Have a safe and fun Halloween!

What were your favorite celeb Halloween costumes? What are you going as this year??

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronze Universel Dupe/Review

Hey guys!
Today, I wanted to show you a Chanel dupe I found from Target. Yay! Who doesn't love a cheaper alternative? So, if you've followed my blog for a while, you know that I wanted the Chanel Bronze Universel for THE longest time and I finally bought it in July. You can read that review here. On a recent trip to Target, I saw that Sonia Kashuk had a cream bronzer and it immediately caught my attention and made me wonder if it could possibly be similar to the Chanel bronzer. Once, I brought it home and swatched it, I knew it was.

Sonia Kashuk Creme Bronzer- Warm Tan (41)

I think the packaging is very sleek looking but for the amount of product you get, the packaging is a little bulky.

The lid has a nice magnetic closure unlike the Chanel that has a twist on top.

This cream bronzer comes in two shades- Warm Tan (41) and Rich Bronze (42). This one is Warm Tan (41). The other is darker in color.

Underneath the bronzer is a little compartment, which holds a round sponge. There is also a mirror for when you're on the go. I don't find this sponge useful but hey, to each their own.

Left-blended, Right-swatched
This bronzer glides on the skin with ease and blends out beautifully. It's VERY easy to blend into the skin and leaves a satin/dewy finish.

Here are the two cream bronzers side-by-side. The Chanel bronzer is 1 once and I am unsure of how much product is in the Sonia Kashuk bronzer (it doesn't say).

The Chanel packaging is clearly bigger than the Sonia Kashuk but I don't think it's something to just throw in your purse. It's more likely to sit pretty on your vanity. The Sonia Kashuk, however, I look at as something I would throw in my purse and that's why I think for the amount of product you get (and I know it's less than 1oz.) the packaging seems a little bulky.

The color of the two bronzers are pretty much identical.

In the picture above, I wanted to capture the difference in texture. Though they are both creams, the Chanel bronzer is a drier formula than the Sonia Kashuk.

Sonia Kahuk- top, Chanel- bottom
Again, the colors are identical, yet the Sonia Kashuk has a wetter or more dewy finish than Chanel.

Sonia Kahuk- top, Chanel- bottom
I wanted to see how they both looked when I set them with powder and as you can see, they look identical. In this case, I set the cream bronzers with Makeup Forever's HD Setting Powder.

Overall, if you really want the Chanel Bronze Universel but hate the idea of spending $48, the Sonia Kashuk Undetectable Creme Bronzer in Warm Tan (41) is a great alternative and is quite the steal for $10.99. Though it is creamier in texture, once it is set with a powder, it looks virtually the same. I also feel that the Sonia Kashuk gives a pretty, dewy bronzed look when used as an all over bronzer. Now, do I regret buying the Chanel? Yes and No. Yes, for the fact that there is a really good dupe out there for a fraction of the price but no, for the fact that I wanted that bronzer for FOREVER and I feel $$ RICH $$ when I use it. lol I pretty much use the Chanel when I'm feeling fancy ;P

Hopefully, this helped anyone out there who is on the fence about splurging on an expensive cream bronzer or is just looking for a cheap Chanel dupe. Let me know if you've tried either of these and how you like them.

Better Than False Lashes?

Hey guys!
Today I wanted to do a review over the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes mascara. I remember when this mascara cam out and seeing that people had a lot of mixed reviews on it.
I tried out this mascara when I was with my sister. We both tried it and felt the same way about it. So, let's go ahead and get on with it.

Here is the front of the packaging. The lashes in the picture look freaking amazing to me. But as you can probably guess, it's misleading.

Here is the inside of the package. This shows you how to apply the mascara step-by-step.

Here are the two mascara products that come in this set. One is the black mascara and the other is full of nylon fibers.

This is the back of the packaging that shows you how it's supposed to look on each lash.

Here is what the nylon fibers look like. It comes in a tube with a mascara wand and is applied just like a normal mascara.

Here is a close up of the fibers. Very fuzzy looking and actually pretty messy.

Here is the actual mascara. I love the gold packaging- it looks and feels very chic and classy. The color of the mascara is very black.

I actually like this type of mascara wand and think the wand, itself, is great. If you look closely, you can  see there are left over fibers from the "2nd step" that have attached to this wand.

Although I like the blackness of this mascara and the shape of the wand, the formula is very sticky. I know this is a great thing for the nylon fibers to adhere to but with the application of the third step, it can get tricky and a little messy. In the picture above, I wanted to demonstrate how the formula of this mascara is so sticky, you can see my fingers sticking together as I try to pull them apart.

This picture is with the first step- the first mascara application.

This picture is of the second step with the nylon fibers. These fibers got everywhere! Not only did they cover my lashes, but they also covered my nose, cheeks, forehead, and even got in my eye. Not fun.

This is with the third and final step- reapplication of the mascara. My lashes definitely look longer and fuller.

Remember how the mascara was really sticky? I wanted to see what it felt like after the last application and ended up ruining the prettiness of my lashes. They were definitely sticky and began to spider together. This is how it looked after I patted them with my finger to feel their texture. Big mistake.

Overall, I feel like it's definitely not worth it, especially for $35. It's way too much work just to put on mascara. I feel like there should be three separate mascaras in this set. The mascara that comes with this is great for a first step, but I feel like there should be a separate mascara to finish off the look. By using the provided mascara as the last step, it leaves the lashes way to sticky. The mascara on the top lashes end up sticking to your bottom lashes and feels a little uncomfortable. Plus, the fibers come off your lashes and stick to the mascara wand on the third step. On my sister's lashes we did all the steps but then added a regular drugstore mascara over the top and got great results. The drugstore mascara dried which made it much more comfortable to wear. Also, I wouldn't recommend using this mascara on your lower lashes. I can only imagine how it would wear or stick to the skin under your eye.

So, there's my review. Hopefully you got an idea of how this mascara works. Let me know if you've tried this and what your thoughts are :)
