Vintage Black Gold Tutorial

Hey guys!

So here lately I've gone on a "let's clean out everything in my closet" binge and surprisingly enough, that included my makeup. I pretty much got rid of about 50% of my makeup (maybe a little less, but it was a lot). While going through my makeup, one thing lead to another and I started swatching things and eventually realized I was in the mood to do a full face with some rediscovered products I found in the black hole area of my makeup drawers. I wanted to use some of my older products. but also incorporate a few new things. I decided to create a look around the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow in Vintage Black Gold. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on these pigments and I wanted to share with you a little of what I've learned about the application process. I will explain more in detail in the tutorial below. I hope you all enjoy this look and get inspired!

Apply your favorite primer first. I used MAC's Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Next, apply a transition shade a few shades darker than your natural skin tone. I used Naked from the original UD Naked palette.

Next, take a dark black shade and create a sideways V shade in the outer corner of your lid. This will add depth to the look when you later apply the glitter pigment.

Then, apply a sticky base on the lid from the inner corner to about half way through the black V you created. The glitter should overlap the black slightly. Only apply this sticky base where you want the glitter. If you go up too high (anywhere above your crease) it will look messy and be harder to blend later.

This glittery pigment is very unique and nothing like anything else I have in my collection. It is slightly squishy and bouncy to the touch kind of like a cream but isn't. It's strange. It comes with a liquid eye primer you are supposed to drop into a small pan and mix with the glitter pigment, then apply it with a synthetic brush across your lid. I honestly don't like the results I get by doing it that way so I came up with my own way to use it. I simply dip my ring finger into the glitter pigment and apply it directly onto my lid. No liquid primer and no mixing crazy, nonsense stuff together. By applying it with your finger, you will get the most color payoff and your lids will look AWESOME!

Now that you've applied the glitter, take a slightly darker transition shade and rock it back and forth into your socket/crease. This will help blend the edges of the glitter and darken the look a tad.

Let's not forget the lower lash line. I ran Sable all the way across the lower lash line, Espresso across 2/3 of the lower lash line and finally Black on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and blended.

For highlight, I kept it simple by going with a matte cream color in the inner corner of the eye and underneath the brow. Notice how I am only using matte eyeshadows (other than the obvious glitter we applied). This draws the attention to the glittery goodness on the mobile lid and doesn't overwhelm the look with too much shimmer and glitter.

Last, finish with a coat of mascara and some wispy lashes. I love these by Ardell.

And here's the final look.

Tutorial: Golden Eye ft. Lorac Pro Palette

Hey guys!
I've been itching to create a post using my new Lorac Pro Palette. I decided to do a look using my favorite colors in the palette. This palette is quickly becoming one of my favorite palettes and I've been using it almost everyday. I hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments.

First, apply Gold from the lash line to the crease.

Now apply Garnet into the outer corner and blend inwards on the lid and slightly into the crease.

For the transition color, take Taupe and rock it back and forth into the crease to soften the edges.

Add a white highlight into the inner corner and under the brow

Next, take Espresso and line the top outer corner. Also add Gold to the entire bottom lash line and place Garnet on the outer third part of the bottom lash line. This adds more definition to the lower lash line.

Take a black kohl liner and line the top and bottom water line.

Finally, curl lashes and apply mascara! :)

The final look my dears!

Do you own the Lorac Pro Palette? What are your favorite colors in the palette?

P.S.- I bought different light bulbs to get rid of some of the yellowness in my pictures. Can you tell? Any better?

Ebay Haul

Hey everyone!
I placed an Ebay order about a month ago and finally got the last item in the mail earlier this week. These are some of the things that have been sitting in my Ebay cart for wayyyyy too long. One day I finally decided to just get it all instead of allowing it to sit there any longer. So, now onto the items I bought...

1. Lorac Pro Palette
I've wanted this palette ever since I read reviews of people saying that they liked it more than the original UD Naked palette (which I personally use ALL the time). So far I really like it but haven't decided if I like it more than my precious Naked palette.

This was a cheap blush palette that allowed me to get a variety of colors without breaking the bank. These actually turned out to be pretty pigmented.

I've wanted a Z-Palette for years now! I really don't have a good excuse as to why I've waited so long to buy one but now that I have one, I want another! You can see this one is already filled and I still have more loose shadows that need a home. I will purchase another one of these soon (or at least that's the plan).

4. Black Geometric Necklace
I've seen a few celebrities wear a necklace like this such as Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, and Paris Hilton. I think it looks chic and goes with everything.

5. Monogram Necklace
Who doesn't have a monogrammed necklace these days? I finally got mine and have been wearing it non-stop. I've also seen celebrities like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston, Carrie Underwood, and SEVERAL others rock this type of necklace.

I've bought several Beauty Blender dupes but these are the best I've found so far. They expand when soaked in water and haven't torn apart when I've tried to wash it. So far, so good.

Since Kim Kardashian's makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, spilled that he loved using this on her, everyone's swarmed out to get it! I feel like when I get more of a tan over the summer, it will be prefect, but since I'm pretty fair right now, it seems to be kinda too yellow. I know it'll work over the summer though so I'm not worried. :)

Have you made any recent Ebay purchases?? What are some things you've been craving?

Birthday Wish List

Hey guys!
So next Sunday is my 23rd birthday and I figured I'd share with you what I've been craving lately. I've been eyeing every
single one of these items for a long time.
Birthday Wish List
1. Leopard Z Palette- They've recently revamped their leopard Z Palette and I love this new style. It's not as
cartoonish as the first leopard palette they had. And believe it or not, I don't own a single empty palette like this to hold my
depotted eyeshadows.

2. Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder- I've seen this every where and would love to give it a
shot. According to the reviews I've read about this setting powder, it works wonders to set the concealer under your eyes.
PLUS, Kim Kardashian's makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, uses it on her. It's super cheap but the only little down fall is that
it's only sold online.

3. Beauty Blender- I think everyone except me has this thing! When it first came out, I bought an off brand
version of it at Ulta and didn't like it. It felt stiff and didn't look like it was as squishy (yes, that's the technical term I used). It
also didn't look like it expanded twice it's size when I drenched it with water. So now I'm ready to get the real thing to see
what all the rage is about.

4. Real Techniques Makeup Brushes-  Again, I feel left out by not having these. I know I
just bought some Sigma brushes but I'd like to have these as well. Every time I go to Ulta, they don't have the ones I want.
Maybe an online order would be best...

5. Lorac Pro Palette- Last, but definitely not least is this Pro Palette from Lorac. I originally saw this in a
few Youtube videos and the colors looked so pretty. Then, I saw it at Sephora and swatched my hand up and fell in love.
Some people think that this palette is pretty close to the UD Naked palette but it's really not. The colors are still "neutral" but
not the same neutral as the colors in the Naked palette.

Do you own any of these? Which ones do you like?
