Guest Blogger: Mimika from Mimika's Little Wonderland

Hey guys! So for a couple of weeks I've been working with Mimika from Mimika's Little Wonderland blog and we've decided to feature one another on each other's blogs. I am very excited to finally work with another blogger and excited to share her blog with all of you. Her posts are so informative and it's obvious she puts a lot of work into each one of her posts. It's amazing! I hope you all enjoy her great tips and check out her blog. :)

"Hi everyone! I am Mimika from Mimika's Little Wonderland- a fashion and beatuy blog! Thanks to Amber from Beauty Guide 101, I am very honored to be a guest blogger on her blog! I am a BIG beauty and fashion junkie. I started my blog last year but didn`t start blogging actively till this March. My blog provides practical beauty/fashion tips and updates to my readers. I also love doing giveaways and have a few going on right now! Check it out :)

Today I am going to do a review of 2 foot care products plus some of my foot care tips! Afterall, it's summer and it's time for sandals! Imagine you are wearing a lovely sun dress, colorful sandals, but dry, rough feet!! We have to take care of feet especially when summer is here! This post is about 2 products I am currently using that moisturize and remove rough skin: Sally Hansen Spa Foot Mask with Lavender & Tea Tree Oil and Dr Scholl's Callus Filer

Sally Hansen Spa Foot Mask with Lavender & Tea Tree Oil

Smell
This foot mask smells very nice with a light lavender smell and is very refreshing! I think it's great when you want to feel relaxed! I love to soak my feet in warm water before using this mask which is a total spa treat! I give this 4/5.

Texture
It has a cream like consistency that is pretty easy to apply and doesn't make a mess as it holds onto your feet. It dries off after around 5-10 minutes. You then wash it off under lukewarm water. I give this 4/5 as well!

Moisturize
This Sally Hansen Foot Mask does moisturize your feet after use although the results are pretty short term. I think you have to use it consistently for a while to see the results. However, for rougher skin, it doesn`t help as much. I think you still need a filer. If the moisturizer effect can stay longer it would deserve a higher score. I give this category 3.5/5.

Overall I love this foot spa and would get it again! An overall 4/5.

Dr. Scholl’s Callus Filer

Removing callus and rough skin
This filer has two different  abrasive surfaces and files calluses and hard skin. The durable stainless steel head is washable and long-lasting. I normally use the more abrasive side to remove callus and the gentler side to remove rough skin on the balls of my feet. It does a pretty good  job removing rough skin and makes my feet feel softer. I give this a 4/5!

Easy to use and clean
I like the shape of this filer better than a pedi stone because it`s easier to use. It has an  easy-grip handle that lets you file even hard-to-reach areas. For cleaning I use put it under running water and hang it to air dry afterwards which is pretty easy. Another 4/5!

Overall this is definitely a 4/5 for me and I love this more than a regular pedi stone!

Mimika's Foot Care Routine:
  1. Soak your feet in warm water. You can add a few drops of your favourite essential oil or olive oil to moisturize your feet
  2. Buff your feet with a filer or pedi stone to remove callus or rough skin
  3. Towel dry your feet and apply your favourite foot mask. Leave for 10 to 15 mins and wash off
  4. Apply a pedi cream to your feet while massaging your feet in circular motion. Don't forget to massage your legs as well especially if you wear heels a lot.
  5. When applying pedi cream, remember to apply on your toe nails and cuticles as well!

I hope you love this post! Thanks again Amber and please visit my blog Mimika's Little Wonderland for more beauty tips and giveaways!"

Thank you so much Mimika for sharing with us!

And here is a little snippet of my post on her blog. Make sure you check it out :)

WHITE ON TREND

This summer I've noticed that whites have made a HUGE comeback. White pieces can be paired with any other piece. White is essentially the "black" for summer. Nearly any top or bottom can be paired with this color and because it is a light neutral it instantly brightens an outfit.

Celeb Look: Emma Watson

Hey guys! I recently saw this picture of Emma Watson for Lancome at the Pre-BAFTA party that was back in February and fell in love with her look. It's completely classic and beautiful. I also loved how she slicked her hair back- very chic.
Since this look really inspired me, I decided to recreate the look; so here it is... Let me know what you think! :)

Sunday Social: TV Shows

Sunday Social

What is your favorite TV show of the past?
I like to watch The Cosby Show, Friends, and the old America's Funniest Home Videos.

What is your current favorite TV show?
I really like to watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Which reality show would you NEVER do?
Fear Factor. Definitely not. You seriously couldn't pay me ANYTHING to eat some of the stuff those people eat.

Which reality show would you LOVE to do?
American Idol or Duets. I love to sing. I just need to find the courage to do it one day!

What is the TV personality/character that you feel is most like you?
This is hard... I honestly have no idea. Sorry.

Which TV character would you want to date?
Well, I've never watched the Bachelor but I think Brad Womack is attractive. He may be a total jerk, I don't know, but like I said, I've never seen the show...

Beautiful Blogger Award

Rules:

Thank the person that nominated you and link to their blog

I was excited to see that I was nominated for the Beautiful Blogger Award by Laura from Laura's All Made Up Beauty and Jessica from The Mod Mermaid. Thank you so much girls!

Tell us how the idea of  making a blog popped up and what makes you continue it?

I was obsessed with watching beauty Youtube videos. I would always click on their link to their blog. Then, I figured if they can do it, so can I. Starting a blog was something I was a little nervous about just because I wasn't sure how people would react or what kind of feedback I would get. So far I love it. I love to hear other people's thoughts and to see that other people are actually interested in what I have to say.

Describe a usual day in you life

Well, lately my weekdays have been filled with summer school work. I took a Physics and Psychology class. The physics class was horrible but the psychology wasn't bad at all. My weekends are typically filled with shopping! lol duh.

The best collaboration with a blogger

Well, I have collaborated with anyone yet but I will have guest post up soon! :) So watch to see who it is!

The worst collaboration with a blogger

None, yet... would someone really call out another blogger like that?

Describe what having a blog means to you

A blog is important to me because it's a way for me to share my passion and interests with others. It's also a way for me to connect with others with the same interests.  I love keeping up with the latest trends and love to show and tell with people.

Nominate 5 other bloggers

New Ombre Hair

You ever get the itch for a change? I do... probably too frequently and for some reason I always go after my hair. I'll cut it, dye it, bleach it, highlight it, and whatever else you can think of. I don't know why I always want to change my hair because it's not like I know anything about hair or how to do hair... Maybe that's why? I guess I like to experiment with it? I don't know. Anyways, I decided that since ombre is still in (right?), I would try it out. I've seen Lauren Conrad and other celebrities with ombre'd hair and fell in love. It just looks so pretty to me. It's something different but fairly low maintenance, which is a plus. I typically don't spend a lot of time doing my hair, instead, I spend my time doing my makeup.

A little background on my hair...
My hair is naturally medium/dark brown. I usually dye it the darkest brown I can find, which typically looks black on my hair. I do this because it makes my hair look richer and shinier and overall healthier. When I decided to ombre my dyed dark brown/black hair, it turned orange. I had to bleach it a few times before it turned half way blonde. It was a slight Cheetos color. I also had to buy a purple shampoo to try to get out some of the orange/yellow/brassy color in my hair. I am currently still using the purple shampoo, trying to get the rest of the orange-ness out. This is why I haven't posted too many pics of myself lately, in case you were wondering. Overall, I think I'm satisfied with the new change. I'm pretty impressed with myself. I've gotten mixed reactions but I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about my new hair! :) Let me know what you think in the comments.

What's the craziest/most drastic change you've ever made because of an "itch?"

Sunday Social: Fashion Edition

Sunday Social

For this Sunday Social the questions are fashion related. YESSS!! lol Who doesn't want to talk about shopping right?

What is your favorite store to shop at?
I LOVE to shop at Forever 21! It's my number one place to shop! They always have the latest trends at a relatively decent/low price.

If you could afford anything and everything, which designer brand would you covet?
My all time favorite designer is Michael Kors- hands down. I love everything he makes. It's simply chic and very feminine. I love Michael Kors in every way. If I had the money, my entire wardrobe would be filled with his clothes and accessories.

Must have closet staple?
A Blazer. I love adding blazers to any outfit. It makes an outfit look more pulled together. It's the perfect piece to add.

Favorite kind of shoes? (brand or type)
I love to wear strappy heels and wedges. Lately I've been training myself to wear higher and higher heels. Strappy heels and wedges are the easiest for me to walk in and I love the way they look on my feet.

Best clothing deal you've ever gotten? (sale or amazing find)
This was a hard one... I would have to say my gold chain link necklace that I purchased from Forever 21 for $10. I was so close to purchasing a chain link necklace that looked very similar that was about 6 times more.

Style you'd love to try?
I'd love to try the hippie-chic, boho look but it seems like every time I try, I turn out looking silly. I think it's because I don't have very many pieces that follow along with that type of style. Plus, my body type doesn't seem to suit it either- I feel like you can't have any curves to wear stuff like this.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:

Some of you may have noticed that I changed up my blog. Let me know what you think of the new look! I'd love some feedback! :)
