Life Update: College, Jenna Marbles, and Christmas Vacation in Annapolis, D.C. and NYC!

Hey guys!

I know this semester my posts have been few and far between, but I wanted to let you guys know what has been going on and what plans I have for the next few weeks/months to come.

So, where do I begin? This semester I have been super busy with school and I felt like I've had to play catch up the entire semester. Not once have I been ahead of my school work, which can take it's toll on stress levels. I've had to be in classrooms every week teaching students on top of completing assignments. This week I have finals, which actually I should be doing now, but I'm soooo tired... They're due Wednesday so I have plenty of time, right? Last week I took my Generalist EC-6 test and passed! :D This means I'm smart enough to teach kids lol. So next semester I will be student teaching everyday so I know my posts will be rare but I will try my hardest to keep up with it as much as I can. I really have missed blogging :( It's not that I haven't put up posts, it's just that I haven't put up as many as I would have liked. I actually have a ton of pics for posts that I haven't created yet. I guess the thought doesn't really count when you don't actually publish the posts.

On another note, if you don't follow me on Instagram, I would suggest you do so :) Why the heck not??? I mean, really? lol I post more there than anywhere else. Plus, it gives you a peek inside my little life. Anyways, a few days ago I went to Target, as one does, and saw this adorable little puppy sweater.  It immediately reminded me of Jenna Marbles' chihuahua, Marbles. For those of you who don't know who Jenna is, here is her YouTube. I think she has over 1.3 billion channel views and over 11 million subscribers or something ridiculous. Anyways, I tagged her in the photo, not really thinking of it and figured she'd never see it because it looks like she gets tagged in a crap ton of pics everywhere, but figured WTH? So, a day or so later, I get on Instagram and see I have over 75 likes within a matter of minutes, and naturally I think someone's hacked my Instagram or something. When I look, I see that a lot of people "liked" that puppy sweater and see a couple comments saying that Jenna's liked it. I was pretty surprised that she even saw it, much less "liked" it. lol Anyways, that was a long story for something that wasn't life changing, but I thought it was pretty neat and figured I'd share lol :P Plus, I hate to post something without a picture. I feel like every post requires at least one picture :)

Finally, last but definitely not least is... drum roll, please... I'm going on vacation with my sister, Crystal in December to see family around the Baltimore/Annapolis area of Maryland. :) I will also be visiting Washington, D.C. and New York! I am super excited! I have never been to Maryland but I have been to both D.C. and NYC. I am supposed to fly up there after Christmas. My sister is also pretty excited because she's never been to NYC before and has been wanting to go. My question to you guys is, what are some of your favorite places to shop in NYC? It's been a few years since I last went so I  wanted to hear from y'all. We planned on making it an all day trip and possibly getting a hotel for the night. I think we were going to wake up super early to be on the TODAY show and then go see the "sights" like the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 memorial, Central Park, Times Square, whatever. But I was wanting to go shopping at some places they don't have around here in Texas. Someone told me on Instagram there was a HUGE F21 and I know there's an Inglot somewhere I'd like to check out because I've never been, but what places do you recommend seeing or shopping at? I'd also like to do some typical tourist-y stuff like eat a slice of pizza and maybe get a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity. Mmmmm I love those! What places are good to eat? Tell me! Tell me! lol

Anyways, let me know what places you'd recommend in NYC or even in Washington, D.C., or Annapolis. I'd LOVE to know!

Emerald Jewels

Hey guys!
I wanted to do a look with the new Too Faced A Few of my Favorite Things Palette. I LOVE this palette! The colors are gorgeous and so pigmented. For this look, I tried recreating one of the looks that I saw in the little pamphlet that came inside the palette. I think it turned out beautifully and quite frankly, one of my favorite looks I've ever done with emerald greens. I hope you like it and if you would like a review of this palette, let me know in the comments :)

L.A. Colors Jumbo Eye Pencil in Beach Resort- from lash line to crease.

Evergreen patted only over the eye pencil. Gently blend out any harsh edges around the crease.

Place Buche de Noel in the crease.

Add Blue Satin Sashes along the upper and lower lash line like you would with eye liner. Also, place a little in the outer corner to add more depth to the look. (I also place Cream Colored Ponies under my brow and in the inner corner of my eye for a highlight)

Add Rimmel Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in the waterline. This is the navy blue shade in the color Deep Blue 004.

ApplyBetter Than Sex mascara.

Apply Lip Injection Color Bomb! Btw, This stuff really tingles your lips. Mine nearly went numb, but I could tell they got plumper. lol

Use Chocolate Soleil as a contour and use Melt into Spring as your blush.

Here is the actual pamphlet this look was inspired from. Beautiful!

Overall, I LOVE this palette! It's so beautiful. The colors are stunning and I really can't say I love it enough. I hope you enjoyed this look and get inspire to try some fun colors out for this holiday season. :)

Do you have this palette? What are your favorite shades?

Urban Decay Vice 2 Makeup

Hey guys!
Today I bring you a look I created from the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette. I love this palette especially for the Fall because it is filled with beautiful metallic and jewel toned shadows. I did this look a while ago but am just now getting around to posting it. I've been SUPER busy with school!! Hope you enjoy!

For the lips, I wanted them to look "popsicle" stained. I added color to the center of my lips and to give a more ombre'd affect, I took my face powder and lightly dusted around the edges.

The colors in this palette are gorgeous! :)

What kind of looks are you loving for fall?

Maybelline Matte Limited Edition Color Tattoos

Hey guys!
I recently heard about the Maybelline Limited Edition Holiday Collection that was coming out this year and saw they were releasing matte Color Tattoos. I got super exited and ran out to the drugstore or should I say drugstores. First stop, Walgreens (no luck), next stop Walgreens (again, no luck), then CVS (fail), and finally I found them at the last CVS I checked (success!!). UGH! lol I love this kind of stuff. It's like a scavenger hunt! haha. From looking at the display, it looked like they had just set them out because it was fully stocked. I grabbed one of each of the Color Tattoos and looked at the rest of the collection. The blushes seemed to shimmery/glittery for my taste so I passed, the lipsticks looked like colors I already had, so really the only other things from the collection were the eyeliners and nail polish. Both of which I also passed on getting. They just didn't seem that great to me. I thought about getting the nail polishes but figured I'd just get what I really came for and wanted- the Color Tattoos.
Anyways, so here are some pictures of the matte Color Tattoos from the collection. Apparently, they are all MAC Paint Pot dupes! So that's great news :)

260- Matte Brown, 255- Just Beige, and 250- Nude Pink

250 Nude Pink
Nude Pink is supposedly a dupe for MAC's Painterly Paint Pot. I don't have Painterly to compare it to but from what I can tell it looks pretty dang close if not exact.

255 Just Beige
Just Beige is a drugstore dupe for Soft Ochre Paint Pot. (Comparison swatches below)

260 Matte Brown
Matte Brown looks to be a dupe for Quite Natural Paint Pot.

Matte Brown, Nude Pink, Just Beige
Matte Brown is a medium/dark grayish brown. Nude Pink is a cool light pink with a tinge of a grayish taupe. Just Beige is a warm soft yellow.

Just Beige and Mac Soft Ochre
Here is a picture of Maybelline's Just Beige (left) next to MAC's Soft Ochre Paint Pot (right). You can see in the pot that Maybelline is just slightly darker and a little more orange.

Right- Just Beige, Left- Soft Ochre
Here is Just Beige and Soft Ochre side-by-side. Even though Just Beige looks like it has a tiny bit more of an orange tint to it, I don't think it's enough to really make a difference when it's on the lids.

Overall, these Color Tattoos are a steal especially if they are all really dupes for MAC Paint Pots. Color Tattoos are about $5 while Paint Pots are $20. Sorry I don't have Painterly or Quite Natural to compare them to, but just by looking at pics online, they seem to be a pretty close match.

Will you pick up anything from Maybelline's Gilded in Gold Holiday Collection?

Look Book: Minty Fresh Leopard

Hey everyone!
I've been pretty uninspired when it comes to fashion and clothes lately. I don't know what it is. I love the Fall and Winter seasons because I get to dress up more, but for some reason I'm not feelin' it right now. Maybe because the weather in Texas is cool one day and then blazing hot the rest of the week. I'm ready for the weather to get cooler everyday and not just every once in a while. So, in hopes of inspiring myself, and of course you guys, I decided to post an outfit of the day.
It's been a while since I've done a Look Book post, so here we go! Enjoy :)

Mint top- Target, Liquid Leggings- Wet Seal

Leopard Scarf- Krogers (yes, the grocery store! lol)

Mossimo Heels- Target (you can see them in this post too)

Hopefully you liked this outfit. I thought it was cute! I hope you are all having a wonderful day :)

What trends are you loving for Fall? What do you do when you get in a fashion funk?
